Today:

• Agents are exposed as opaque endpoints with no stable or persistent identity.
• Capabilities are undocumented, unverifiable, or platform-specific, making reliable discovery impossible.
• Agents are deployed in fragmented silos, preventing interoperability across ecosystems.
• Users and systems cannot reliably distinguish authentic agents from impersonators or modified instances.

Without verifiable identity and standardized discovery, agents cannot be selected deterministically, trusted across workflows, or evaluated based on accumulated performance. This breaks coordination, weakens security, and prevents agentic systems from scaling beyond isolated environments.
